Abstract

In this paper we deal with the Drawing‘s teaching in primary school in the early decades of Brazil Republic. We use the backdrop of the Female Professional Institute Orsina da Fonseca, in Rio de Janeiro and the books by Luiz Dumont, from 1913. During this historical period were published some laws that dealt with the teaching in primary school, of which we highlighted the Decret 981 (BRAZIL, 1890) which approved the regulation of primary and secondary education in the Distrito Federal, the Decret 844 (BRAZIL, 1901) that ruled the elementary school in the Distrito Federal and the Decret 282 (BRAZIL, 1902) that ruled the professional education. From the theoretical and methodological basis of Cultural History was articulated the crossing traces obtained mostly in these laws and on the writings of Professor Luiz Dumont, as objective to find the importance of school drawing as a component of the primary school curriculum proposals in that period.

    Possui graduação em Licenciatura em Matemática pelo Centro Universitário Augusto Motta (1999), Mestre em Educação Matemática pela Universidade Severino Sombra (2014). Atualmente é professor I da Prefeitura da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro e professor auxiliar do Centro Universitário Celso Lisboa. Tem experiência na área de Matemática e disciplinas ligadas a Engenharia.
